We stay in our lane
Two distinct dive regions, one continuous trip. Alor and Pantar sit at the eastern end of the Lesser Sunda Islands in East Nusa Tenggara. Komodo lies several hundred kilometres west, off western Flores. Most divers link the two with a repositioning liveaboard, or by stitching a land-based Alor stay to a separate Komodo boat.
We curate the Alor–Pantar leg only. That is the reason divers travel this far east. The Komodo portion goes to a third-party liveaboard or land operator of your choosing. We never sell our own Komodo product, so there is no itinerary overlap and no upsell dressed up as a recommendation.
Who does what
Geography does the deciding. Alor's dive hub is Kalabahi Bay; Komodo boats typically depart Labuan Bajo. Between them sits Flores, with Maumere as the common mid-route transit point.

Repositioning liveaboards run seasonally. A typical Alor Sea itinerary sails the September–October window, boarding at Kalabahi Bay and diving sites such as Pasir Merah — a volcanic red-sand slope with gas vents north of Pura Island — before working westward.

A longstanding land-based Pantar resort referenced here caters to 16 divers and reaches 40-plus sites within 30 to 45 minutes by small, low-emission boat.
Quoted per route
There is no citable public price table for Alor dive packages, liveaboards or the marine park fee — only the rule that a permit and fee are required before any marine activity.
Quotes exclude domestic flights, the Alor marine park fee and permit, DAN insurance, and third-party liveaboard surcharges. The Komodo leg is priced by the operator you choose, not by us.

Timing
Timing the Alor leg matters more than the Komodo one. Alor dives best from April to November, with October and November bringing the most prevalent currents.
Because repositioning liveaboards concentrate in September–October, that window is the tightest to book. Two stitched legs give you more year-round flexibility.

Yes. The two regions are commonly linked by a repositioning liveaboard that dives Alor–Pantar then transits west via Maumere toward Komodo, or by pairing a land-based Alor stay with a separate Komodo boat. Currentline arranges the Alor leg through licensed operators and coordinates your independently chosen Komodo transit, so the two never overlap.
By sea or air. Repositioning liveaboards sail from Kalabahi Bay through the Flores Sea, usually via Maumere, toward Labuan Bajo for Komodo. Land-based divers fly Alor–Maumere or Alor–Labuan Bajo, often via Kupang, and join a Komodo boat there. Currentline sequences the handoff so your dates connect cleanly.
It depends on time and budget. A single repositioning liveaboard saves transfers and maximises water time but runs mainly in the September–October window. Two stitched legs — an Alor resort week plus a separate Komodo boat — offer more scheduling flexibility year-round. We can price both formats so you compare them directly before committing.
Both need solid experience, but Alor is stricter. DAN or equivalent dive-accident insurance is mandatory because the nearest hyperbaric chamber is in Bali. Alor's marine protected area also requires a permit, a marine park fee and a mandatory officer briefing, with guides holding special MPA certification on top of standard agency cards.
