Why book Alor through a concierge, not one resort?
Alor and Pantar sit in the eastern Lesser Sunda Islands, deep inside the Coral Triangle. Remote, current-swept, and unforgiving of a badly matched trip.
One resort means one boat and one fixed set of dates. Alor does not reward that. Visibility swings between glassy 40 m in the June–October dry window and 15 m plankton haze during the blooms, and the currents that made Pantar Strait famous run hardest in October and November.
An independent desk keeps your options open. We own no boats and no bungalows, so we arrange through established, licensed Alor operators and match the operator, season and site profile to what you actually want to see.
One property serves one of those well. A concierge builds the whole trip around the right combination — and says plainly when your dates or your logged-dive count do not suit the strait.

Alor's waters are a marine protected area and the rules are stricter than most divers expect. We confirm every one of these before your name goes on a booking.

What does a concierge-planned Alor trip cost?
No public, citable price table exists for Alor dive packages, liveaboards or the marine park fee — only the fact that a fee and permit are required. So we quote live rather than publish a number we cannot stand behind.
Marine park fees, permits, DAN insurance and flights are separate and paid directly. Every quote is dated, written and confirmed with the operator before you pay anything.

Pantar Strait currents demand rapid descents, quick equalising and a regroup around 5 m. Typical dives run 15–25 m; one documented hammerhead site reaches roughly 32 m in very strong current.

02 Does Currentline Alor own the boats or resorts it books?
No. Currentline Alor is an independent concierge operated by Bali Premium Trip, not the asset owner. We arrange your diving through vetted, licensed Alor operators, including established Pantar dive resorts and seasonal Alor Sea liveaboards. That independence lets us match you to the boat, season and site profile that fits, rather than selling one fixed property.
03 Is a concierge more expensive than contacting an Alor operator directly?
Usually not. We arrange at each licensed operator's own rates and are paid on the operator side, so vetting, permit handling and multi-partner logistics come without a hidden markup on the dive price. What you gain is time saved, verified MPA-certified guides, and a fallback plan if one operator's dates, weather or carrying-capacity caps fall through.
04 What certification and experience do I need to dive Alor?
Alor is for experienced divers. Operators require at least PADI Open Water, and most recommend 50 to 100 logged dives for comfort in Pantar Strait's strong currents. All dives are no-decompression, solo diving is not allowed, and DAN or equivalent dive-accident insurance is mandatory because the nearest hyperbaric chamber is in Bali. We confirm every requirement before you commit.
